First established in 1962 by Jack Membrey’s trading as J&N Membrey’s & Son, the company has now evolved to become Membrey’s Transport & Crane Hire after Craig Membrey took over the family business in 1989. The Kenworth Legend SAR were built to honour the character of the first all-Australian Kenworth truck the iconic W900SAR. In its original engineering form, SAR stood for “Short bonnet A-series cab Right-hand drive”, before being localised to “Short Australian Right-hand drive”. Released for in sale 2023, more than 750 Legend SAR trucks were sold on the first day.
The 2025 Diecast expo Membrey’s Legend SAR is based on Legend No 29 that was custom built for Jack William Membrey (a third-generation family member) proudly celebrating their 60 years in business
