The Joker offers to kill Batman for money but is not taken seriously, when he learns of the power Batman has he begins to kill one person each day until Batman reveals his true identity. Some who fall include the former Police Commissioner, a mob trail judge and he attempts to kill Harvey Dent, but instead kills Bruce’s childhood sweetheart, sending Batman on his own quest for vengeance. He continues to step up his game when he threatens to blow up a hospital if a Wayne Enterprises employee isn’t killed within an hour, which he proceeds to do.
