Holden was an Australian automobile manufacturer that existed from 1856 to 2021. This year's lineup includes two muscle cars that represent Holden.
The Monaro GTS is a high-performance version of Holden's upper-middle car, the Monaro. The first Monaro was introduced in 1968, with a body size similar to that of a Japanese luxury car, and a lineup of engines that included not only its own straight-six, but also a Chevrolet V8 supplied by its parent company, GM.
Hot Wheels' motif was the second generation Monaro GTS, which had a larger body and was powered by a 5.7-liter V8 that was also used in the Camaro and Corvette in the US.
The Torana A9X, on the other hand, is a Holden subcompact car with a GM 5-liter V8 engine in a body that almost fits the Japanese 5-number frame. The Torana was produced for three generations from 1967 to 1979, but the A9X that Hot Wheels used as a motif was a limited production car of 100 units set for the third-generation Torana, which appeared in 1974, and featured a huge scoop mounted on the engine hood, a vis
