Richard Simpkin quit school at the age of 16 and went on tour with the band and spent years with Michael learning the art of photography. His dream was to be a photographer and Michael took Richard on tour and allowed him into his personal life to take behind the scenes photos of his personal moments.

His tragic death in 1997 has not dimmed the fascination with his life, his loves and musical legacy. Hutchence was the archetypal rock showman .
