Sd.Kfz.181 PzKpfw VI Tiger Ausf. E Heavy Tank (Early) - Forces of Valor MP-912043C (Old FOV-801062C FV-801062C)
In August of 1942, production of the first Tiger began, and by 1944 over 1300 tanks were manufactured. At the time, the Tiger’s 88mm gun was arguably the strongest and most effective anti-tank gun in use. Allied tanks had superior mobility when it came to facing a Tiger, forcing them to attack at the Tiger’s side or back in order to engage successfully. “Tigerphobia” was very real given the strength and formidability of these impressive tanks, and it is said that Russians would flee when they caught sight of a Tiger approaching.
